Online Tips For Kids


  • Donít give out personal information such as address, telephone number, or the name and location of your school

  • Never agree to get together with anyone you meet online

  • Never send anyone you donít know a picture or anything else

  • Tell parents right away if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable

  • Do not respond to any messages that are mean or make you feel uncomfortable. Make sure you tell your parents when this happens

  • Talk with your parents about setting up online rules, times, and length of time online. Keep the rules

  • Other than your parents do not give out any Internet passwords (even your best friends)

  • Check with your parents before downloading or installing any software

  • Be a good online citizen. This means do not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law

  • Show your parents what you are doing on the internet

  • Remember that your parents love you and only want to keep you safe
